GOAL 2: ZERO HUNGER |
The first event of WWF & CIP Community took place on March 13, 2025 at Sabancı University campus. At the event, Prof. Dr. Zafer Yenal, a faculty member of Sabancı University Business School, discussed “Sustainability in Agriculture: Global Challenges and Local Solutions”. Two documentaries were screened, focusing on the Tony’s Chocolonely brand and the urban agriculture stories of the Mezitli Solinova Women’s Producer Cooperative. Following the screenings, sustainability in agriculture in both Turkey and the world was discussed. The main topics of discussion included child labor in agriculture, biodiversity, hunger and malnutrition, the food crisis, alternative food networks, and the environmental and social costs of the Green Revolution.
Students of CIP 101 course visited the Food Rescue Association's Social Impact Center in Dilovası on April 30, 2024. At the Social Impact Center, Students supported the operations related to the sorting, packaging and distribution of food and contributed to the delivery of the rescued food to people in need.
