| GOAL 12: RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION |
- Abdulhalim Demir and Pelin İpek Boyacı from the Clean Clothes Campaign held a Consumer Awareness Workshop with CIP 101 students on December 2, 2025, at the Sabancı University campus. The workshop aimed to enable students to learn about key issues in the textile industry, responsible consumption, ongoing campaigns, and the concept of Just Transition, and to strengthen their perspectives on these topics.In the second part of the workshop, an activity focused on developing a campaign was carried out. In this way, students were provided with not only theoretical knowledge but also practical experience.
- On April 30, 2025, Feyza Küçükateş, the Sabancı University representative of the TEMA Foundation, and Zeynep Kılınçer, the CIP Overvisor, conducted a Zero Waste Training for CIP 101 students. The aim of the training was to raise students' awareness about waste management and to encourage individual actions that can be taken to reduce waste.
- The Responsible Restaurant Movement, which was launched to create a sustainable world and social awareness in the gastronomy sector, met with CIP 101 students on December 19, 2024. Elif Üngör, Assistant General Manager of Akkomarka Restaurant Group, and Emir Sami İşmen, Assistant General Manager of IBB Beltur, from the representatives of the Responsible Restaurant Movement, talked about their activities to prevent food waste and promote proper consumption habits.
As part of the Consumer Awareness Project, Fuat Ergin from the Association for the Development of Consumer Awareness gave a seminar on consumer rights to CIP 101 students at Sabancı University campus on December 3, 2024.
- As part of the Consumer Awareness Project, Electronic Waste Workshop was organized by Caner G. Yalın from Pulsec Cycle Co. on November 11-12, 2024 at Sabancı University campus. Within the scope of the workshop, the concepts of waste hierarchy, recycling, upcycling and downcycling were discussed. After examining waste electronic materials in terms of function and design, they were disassembled down to the smallest parts using hand tools and their working principles were discussed. Afterwards, a new visual was created by upcycling the materials.
- At the Offtown Festival, which took place at Sabancı University on May 17-18, 2024, upcycling workshops were held with the Mind Your Waste Foundation and Devridaim Institute. Bags were made from old t-shirts with the Mind Your Waste Foundation. The workshop was followed by a talk on “How do we take care of our garbage?” Devridaim Institute also organized a workshop on making earrings from waste paper. The workshops aimed to reduce waste and keep any material in use for as long as possible.
- The Swap Fest, which aims to introduce unused items to their new users and bring each item one step closer to its maximum use potential, was held on April 27, 2022, at the Sabancı University campus.
