In Spring 2023, “Active Participation of Youth in Climate Action Planning Project” was carried out in collaboration with the WWF-Türkiye Volunteer Program and Climate and Energy Program. The objectives of the project were to increase students' climate and climate action plans literacy skills and their effectiveness in the climate struggle, to examine and follow the climate action plans of municipalities, to examine and report on the climate change process from the perspective of the most vulnerable groups including women and people with disabilities. Following the “Civil Society and Volunteering” and “Climate Action Literacy” trainings provided within the project's scope, the Climate Action Plans of Kadıköy Municipality and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality were examined and reported.

United Nations Volunteers (UNV) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) organized an event with the theme “Climate and Youth” for International Volunteer Day 2022 at Feriye Palace. The event started with opening speeches by Dr. Ümit Şahin, Climate Change Studies Coordinator at Sabancı University Istanbul Policy Center and Nil Memişoğlu, UNV Türkiye Coordinator, and Nil Karaibrahimgil gave a mini-concert. The event also included a film screening titled “Changing Climates, Changing Lives,” consisting of the award-winning films of the Sabancı Foundation Short Film Competition.
